Cleaning and maintenance should follow Privy JHA and COVID-19 JHA guidelines. <em>The known exception for privies is in North Carolina; volunteers in need of more information should contact ATC’s Southern Regional Office staff or their local district.</em> </span><span style="font-size: 12.0pt; mso-fareast-font-family: 'Times New Roman'; mso-bidi-font-family: Calibri; mso-bidi-theme-font: minor-latin;"> <br><br></span></li>

For that reason, shelters remain closed for public use on APPA lands, per the NPS Public Health Office. That being said, during the last iteration of the adaptive recovery guidelines, there were allowances made for a maintainer (or ones from the same household) to address maintenance needs - provided they aren't in the airspace of others, etc. Maintainers should follow trash JHA along with other applicable JHAs for work on shelters. </span><span style="font-size: 12.0pt; mso-fareast-font-family: 'Times New Roman'; mso-bidi-font-family: Calibri; mso-bidi-theme-font: minor-latin;"> <br><br></span></li>
<li><span style="font-size: 12.0pt; mso-fareast-font-family: 'Times New Roman'; mso-bidi-font-family: Calibri; mso-bidi-theme-font: minor-latin;">Related to carpooling for people working the field, the guidance still discourages ridesharing from different households. If there are important reasons to carpool, then occupants that are not members of the same family should <span style="border: none windowtext 1.0pt; mso-border-alt: none windowtext 0in; padding: 0in;">maximize distancing within the vehicle whenever possible and must always </span>wear masks. Improve the ventilation in the vehicle, for example, by opening the windows or setting the air ventilation/air conditioning on non-recirculation mode. Volunteers should follow CDC guidelines regarding hygienic practices, such as using alcohol wipes to disinfect surfaces or using hand sanitizer containing at least 60% alcohol, or washing hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds. </span> <br><br></span></li>
<li><span style="font-size: 12.0pt; mso-fareast-font-family: 'Times New Roman'; mso-bidi-font-family: Calibri; mso-bidi-theme-font: minor-latin;">Masks that cover nose and mouth should be worn by field workers when 6' of space can not be maintained, either between workers, or on busy trail sections. <br><br></span></li>
<li><span style="font-size: 12.0pt; mso-fareast-font-family: 'Times New Roman'; mso-bidi-font-family: Calibri; mso-bidi-theme-font: minor-latin;">Tool sharing is<span style="border: none windowtext 1.0pt; mso-border-alt: none windowtext 0in; padding: 0in;"> still discouraged</span>, but people handling tools should continue to place emphasis on proper hand hygiene. <span style="border: none windowtext 1.0pt; mso-border-alt: none windowtext 0in; padding: 0in;">If you need to share tools, make sure to sanitize, wash your hands, and don’t touch your mouth or eyes. </span> </span></li>
