2014, July. Jolly Rovers Advanced Rock Work Class

An ATC-sponsored advanced rock work class was conducted by the Jolly Rovers Trail Crew leaders (Chris & Artie) for SW Va ATC maintaining clubs. A total of 13 maintainers attended, including members of PATH (Greg Weaver & Ron Hudnell) and RATC. The class project area was along the A.T. relocation underway in the Pearisburg VA area. The projects were 4 crib wall sections (and a few steps) totaling roughly 75 ft. along about 250 ft. of trail. The Rovers are a volunteer club primarily out of the NY/NJ area that do rock work projects in the eastern U.S., mostly in the northeast. The ATC arranged for this group to conduct the training class. Visit the Jolly Rovers website at http://jollyrovers.org/ for more information about this hard-working group of volunteers.
