July14-18, 2021. Jim,I am a fairly new member and have not participated in a work day before. I live in Atkins, VA and can help on Thursday 7/15. I am familiar with the Davis Valley access and walk there frequently. Should I meet you guys there? If so, what time? Thanks, Forrest On Mon, Jun 28, 2021 at 10:33 AM Jim Houck via Path-list <path-list at path-at.org> wrote:Typo corrections:1) Section Maintainers "if" you want to walk/work...2) if anyone "has" a crowbar....JimSummerFest – 19. Or?  IXX or XIX, or XVIIII ?? We’ll base camp at Konnarock trail camp in Sugar Grove. There will be eight(8) USDA-FS volunteers in camp, so pods may be limited. Tenting is available(BYO-tent).Meals will be provided by the PATH kitchen crew.PATH provided trail lunch will be PB&J.Vegans, let me know &/or BYO-vegies.BYO: Water(60 oz. per day in the field)BYO: Beverages(alcohol is allowed), coffee will be supplied.Pot-Luck: If you want to bring something to share; deserts, brownies & various chips are always welcome. Our main project will be working with FS volunteers to construct the Dry Run Turnpike. This will be an elevated gravel pathway(about 123’ long) across the Dry Run floodplain.Easy, fun project, with FS doing the heavy lifting placing the gravel purchased thru a grant, thanks to Ron Hudnell.Project location: In Davis Valley, 0.6 miles north of I-81, & 0.4 miles south of VA-617(most parking). I’ll have my usual list of odd jobs for when we have extra volunteers.Section Maintainers, if you want to walk/work your section let me know.If anyone has a "crowbar", would you bring it.A crowbar is about 30" long & shaped like a walking cane. It is used to remove boards. Also, "COVOD-19" JHA's may be on effect due to the latest "Delta" variant spiking & hitting mostly the unvaccinated. Bring your face mask.Social distancing & No car pooling. July 14-18. Come one, come all.RSVP.Hope to see you at SummerFest. Jim HouckClub President & Trail SupervisorPiedmont Appalachian Trail Hikers(PATH)      --
