Subject: US Forest Service Southern Region Justice, Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Partnership Learning Series - Please join us!
Good afternoon, US Forest Service Partners -
It is our pleasure to announce a unique and exciting opportunity for Southern Region employees, partners and volunteers. Through partnership with the Southern Appalachian Wilderness Stewards (SAWS), the Southern
Region is collaboratively hosting a Justice, Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (JEDI) Partnership Learning Series. The USDA’s Forest Service holds a strong value for, and commitment to, JEDI, interdependence, and safety in all forms. Similarly, the Southern
Region strives to lead positive change on these issues. As part of our ongoing work to continuously learn and improve, this partnership is set to offer opportunities for a diverse internal and external audience to expand their knowledge and explore opportunities
to make a positive difference.
The JEDI learning program, we and SAWS are offering, is in collaboration with the Avarna Group and has two distinct components. The first will provide a series of four, one-hour foundational virtual sessions. Register at
Southern Region JEDI Partnership Learning Series - Wilderness Skills Institute. Please see the enclosed learning series course descriptions for more information.
The What and Why of JEDI – October 13, 2021 at 1:00pm EST
The How of JEDI – October 27, 2021 at 1:00pm EST

We hope that you can join us for learning that leads to action.
Have a great week,
Ginelle Heller
